Large Storm Gives Rain and Snow for the New England Area- Corey Monroe

Huge Storm Hits New England This Week

Starting this weekend a large storm brewed in the south east and had been moving north. The storm first struck the New England area on Monday morning. This storm will last through Monday evening and into the night for us in North Jersey. We will get a total of about 2-3 inches of rain during this storm and the storm should be on its way out by Tuesday morning. We should expect gale force winds of up to 50 miles per hour.

We Faired Better Though

We are lucky though as many others farther north weren't as lucky. Places like Massachusetts, Upstate New York, and Rhode Island are being slammed with 50-60 miles per hour winds and up to 4 inches of rain. Therefore these places are seeing more fallen trees, tornado watches, and flooding. So far about 130,000 customers are without power. New York reported 23,000 customers out, Massachusetts reported 47,000 customers out, Rhode Island reported 32,000, and Connecticut reported 28,000 customers out. Lastly in Delaware a tornado was reported by the National Weather Service.

Wacky Weather

This storm is also going to be a wacky one as it leaves northern New England in snow. But it will also leave places like Mississippi is snow, which is rare. Lastly, this storm won't drop any snow on the coast by Delaware, New Jersey, and NYC.

  1. I wish we could've gotten snow instead of rain

  2. I wouldn't mind some snow! I wonder if our winter will be snowy or nothing like last year.
